Stress, unusual schedules, and wearing masks have left many of us with "pandemic pores." Here are three signs that you have them and how to deal with them. 1. Dry, dehydrated skin-Flaking, dryness, and tightness are all signs your skin is not getting enough moisture. Our pores can't function properly when our skin is not adequately hydrated. Quick Fix: Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Bump up your moisturizer and add a hydrating serum like Intense Defense Serum. With ingredients like hylaronic acid, Vitamins A,B,C, and D it not only hydrates, it protects the skin from damage and can help to visibly reduce pore size. 2. Blackheads emerging- Your pores are getting full of excess oil and debris if you can see blackheads on your face. Quick Fix: Schedule a Clear Skin Facial which includes extractions to clear the pores of debis. Get back on track with your skin routine moring and night. Add a gentle exfolaint such as Polish Cranberry Enzyme Mask, a Lytic treatment lotion, or Clarify serum. 3. Acne on the lower face- You may have notice small blemishes on the upper lip and areas covered by a mask appearing aka "maskne". Or perhaps you are experiencing hormonal acne caused heightened levels of stress and anxiety revealing itself on your chin or jawline. Quick Fix: If maskne is a concern try to limit wearing makeup and switch to a tinted SPF such as Daily Shield Tinted SPF. For both maskne and hormonal blemishes try a spot treatment like Purifying Spot Gel. Adding these quick fixes will help get your pandemic pores under control.
